Lightyear wants to be the first to the market with an electric self-charging family car using solar energy. To develop a new and state of the art vehicle architecture in-debt automotive knowledge and experience is required. As disruptive technologies are used, the in-vehicle system architecture needs to be ready to adopt them in the embedded controllers, infotainment systems, and backend system communication.
Sioux contributed by developing the complete vehicle electrical and software architecture, CAN architecture and developed the motor controller software.
A running and completely functional prototype car.
Vehicle E/E architecture, CAN database design, Drive- and Bodycontroller, HMI and Matlab Simulink.
Lightyear’s mission is to bring clean and affordable mobility to everyone by creating a car that charges itself with sunlight. A solution that will make the electric car scalable because it drastically reduces the dependency on the electricity grid.
