Tim de Haas has been working at Sioux since 2018 and has since grown into the role of Senior Software Engineer.
Tim: ‘Many companies claim that employees come first, and that cultural values and enjoyment are important, but at Sioux, I really feel that this is genuinely lived. It's not a clever marketing trick. Here, the focus is less on aggressive growth and more on the quality of the work, which makes it a unique place to work.’
‘Analyzing and solving problems together is what I enjoy the most’
Solving problems together
'What I enjoy most about my work is the role of research involved when something goes wrong with the software. The process of analyzing, figuring out exactly where the problem lies, and understanding the underlying cause is interesting to me. Then I work not only on a solution for the specific problem but also on a structural improvement to prevent similar issues in the future.
I also enjoy working with colleagues to design new systems. Creating a design together, exploring different ideas, brainstorming the best approach, and ultimately making a thoughtful choice. That's what makes the work dynamic and challenging.’
Development opportunities
'Sioux has encouraged my growth and development by offering courses that weren’t always directly related to my current work. You’re given the freedom to choose training programs that interest you, allowing you to discover what suits you best. Additionally, there is always support available: if you run into difficulties, time is set aside to help you and work together to find a solution.'
