Xi came to the Netherlands in 2011 to study Mechanical Engineering at TU Eindhoven, meanwhile he has been working at Sioux for several years. As a Mechatronic System Designer he specializes in design and control complex dynamical systems. He is involved in various projects in the field of motion control and position engineering.
Xi: 'Sioux offers the opportunity to work on unique projects within different contexts. This helps everyone to broaden their expertise and experience in different application areas. It is essential for our development to apply and further develop our knowledge in practice. By switching between different projects, you get the opportunity to gain experience in various fields and further specialize in them.'
'People here really listen to you.'
Room for own ideas
Xi Luo is also the team leader of the RoboCup team, a passion project he works on with great enthusiasm: 'It's great to see that this is possible within Sioux. I came to the CEO with an idea, and he then embraced it. I find genuine interest and support for innovations from employees special. You are really listened to. The company supports and encourages employees by not only encouraging but also providing materials and budget for such activities. This offers engineers the valuable opportunity to work with interesting technology outside working hours to develop further.'
Involved family
Xi: 'Sioux organizes both internal and external events, which also involve employees' family members. I think this is a great initiative because it is often difficult for a high-tech company to explain exactly what the work is about. By organizing open events on a regular basis, employees get a chance to show their families what they do and what projects Sioux works on.
A great example of this is the Hot-or-Not: The Next Generation workshop, where children are introduced to technology in a playful way. Initiatives like this show that Sioux not only has a technical and financial responsibility to customers, but also a social one.'
